Runescape was unable to enter that display mode?

Does anyone else get an error when trying to switch from safemode to OpenGL or DirectX using the runescape graphics interface? What should I do to correct this? A message that reads, "Runescape was unable to enter that display mode," appears every time I try to switch out of safe mode.

Is this on SMART?
What version of SMART are you using?

I believe all of the 'older' versions of SMART only work on SafeMode, however maybe 8.2 or 8.3 work on other modes.
Reason for this is because SRL is(was) written for that mode anyways, if you want another mode just use your browser.

What does the OGL Include use? I thought OGL was usable in SMART… Maybe I'm wrong.
EDIT: My browser did work, when I change it in the log in screen.

Find Preference.dat and Preference2.dat and delete them from your Disk. You might have multiple copies so search for the files. Also make sure you have only 32-bit Java 7 installed. JRE version, if you have the JDK, you need to add JRE to your path, google can help with that. If you do that, you should be able to switch into OGL mode.

I'd the problem previously as well but Demise solved it.
Get SMART 8.2/8.3, specify a correct 32bit java path in ur environment path (alternatively if using smart 8.3 u can state it in ur 1st argument of SmartSpawnClient()).
Also load Smart with SetupGLX() or {TSmart instance}.Create()

Alright, I'll try your suggestions. Thanks.
