Anyone getting hit or are they only hitting the reflection boys?

They said they were able to detect bot clients so I'm just curious

My account is safe, I bot 20 hrs / week, maybe 1-2 legit.

Superuser got hit with a perm ban botting divination http://villavu.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1262952

I assume he was using Simba, although he didn't say.

They'll get you unless you got damn complex scripts, static cameras is a big one. Also, I am pretty sure you have to bot nearly over 160 hours per week to get banned.

How do you know that static camera is a large factor in whether you get banned or not?

My main got banned but I was using Powerbot ignoring all the chances of being banned because i didnt really care anymore. I had sold all my GP and my account was 2480+ with 60 Divination. SuperUser got banned today aswell but he was using a private script via Simba. It's not the Simba client which was detected, basically mods have been going around banning.

Well I haven't been botting divination for the last few hours to be safe. Sticking with some bankstanding scripts.

Is this thread related to RS3 or OSRS? I myself have never had any problems while working with Simba.

DemiseScythe:
While camera usage might play a role in bot detection it's proven not to be a sure thing. SPS used to work at only static North and it was commonly used in scripts, which also left their cameras at North the full time. I myself run my Monkfisher (or a combination of other scripts) for 10-14 hours per day, 100% of the time at North only. Now this is in Oldschool RS mind you.

Because I bot and my bot moves the camera around a lot, never been banned?

RS3 Flight, the botwatch thing is a calculator that calculates how botlike you are, pretty sure legits score lower because of chat interaction including public n pm, trading and camera movements.

Your sample size is very small. Also could you link me to your sources about those things? I haven't seen any official information about botwatch other than using "hotspots" to focus attention.

You are talking about the wrong game, they are on the OSR game. Superuser got banned in RS3, your point anyways?

Besides, the Op isn't specific at all, this isn't the OSR section of the forums, I apologize if this was offtopic.

I'm talking about RS3, so we're on the same page with that right? I know that superuser got banned in RS3 because there is no divination skill in OSR (yet :p)

My point was that you were stating that camera movements were a big part of the bot detection system, yet you had no proof that this was the case and you were just making a speculation.

This is probably not the place for this discussion though.

Get a job with Fagex and look at the code if you want to know specifics of the bowatch program. Agree that this is not the proper thread for this so I am done.

Ive ran 15 accounts, 20hrs/day For 3 months straight. Never moving camera, doing the same 4 clicks in a row, and repeating, never once did i get banned.

-throws logic out the window-

Yes I remember seeing the same thing of Jagex stating in which areas specifically the Botwatch was being tested in. The last I heard of an officially announced location was the Dungeoneering place, whatever that is called.

He wasn't specific in the OP but apparently the question pertains to OSRS so point in listing examples in RS3. Also your logic is correct, while I strongly agree with Demise's statement on camera activity being a likely factor in bot detection, there is absolutely no proof and no one outside of the Jagex team can know this for sure, so of course it's only theory & opinion, no matter how strongly one believes in it.

That would be the only way to know for sure, yes? We can only try to look at it from their point of view and adjust accordingly to stay under the radar; logic and common sense is far underrated when it comes to macroing.

Also, I'm so tired of people calling them "Fagex". This is stupid and immature and really pisses me off. If it weren't for this team of developers there wouldn't be a game to begin with, infact there might not have been a good enough reason to make a solid community such as SRL or SCAR's community had that game never existed. Show them some respect and cut out this BS name-calling…

It's a good sign that the most commonly used factors in bot-detection exclude small routines like that. With that knowledge we can assume they use other methods. From what I've seen manual bans seem to be the most potent in OSRS.

Only did that because I don't want to mention them because of the google bots, this forum auto-replaced their name to "fagex" in the past, probably because it is a TM. No need to pissed off at it, not like I hate them.
