Yeah, my thousand happened quite a while ago. I'm almost at 1300 now even; nonetheless, I am celebrating this even finally prior to my upcoming one year. I'd like to say that I knew nothing about programming when I started, but that would be a lie - however I didn't know anything about LAPE, PascalScript, or Delphi. And I can easily say that as I've continued scripting, I have definitely improved with each script I've worked on. Hell, I'm even improving as I work on my current scripts. To roughly quote some less than famous, but still true words, "you can't truly be amazing at anything until you understand why you suck at it." And damn, I still do suck at scripting - especially from the sense of making code easily readable or writing out coding designs prior to my work. I can name a TON of people here all better than me at this or that - many of which I have enjoyed talking with thoroughly and love hanging out with on Skype.
@Ashaman88 and @Mat are the original people I looked up to when I came here. I know people understand the Ashaman thing (btw, we totally share a birthday apparently, so I expect to see a pair thread when the time comes :p), but everyone is always confused about Matt - well he used to be around a lot and helpful at least and he's still in skype from time to time.
@BMWxi is always helping people. He has a crazy amount of posts because he's always trying to help everyone ever.
@Brandon works so hard for the community and even with absolute and undeniable frustration with us, guess where he is? Working to help us. Because he's the man.
@Hobbit is someone I've almost never messaged/spoken to in any manner. But he's a damn good admin and is on the ball with everything - not to mention crazy professional (until he's in IRC or SkypeChat :p)
@Janilabo is yet another man always working to help us out and do everything he can for the community even without a RS account at all and literally entirely for the community and SRL. Give this man some serious respect even if you don't use what he gives us - because chances are you're bound to do it inadvertently at some point now or in the future.
@Justin has been a solid admin in his time in power and handles more stuff than I care to even know about. I really hope he doesn't grow to resent our community because I have always loved talking to him and have had some pretty great convos with him in the past - even if he's kinda been busy as of late.
@kevin33 is a fellow Kevin. And Kevin's are awesome. 'nuff said.
@The Killer is just a damn good person to talk to. Although I'm pretty sure I can't say 90% of our conversations due to public decency and forum rules ;)
@The Mayor is the only person I've worked on a script together for. We wrote a Fur Buyer from scratch (he prolly did like 60-70% of the work there tbh) and then later I wrote a slayer script and he added a couple of the walking functions. Damn solid scripter right thar.
@NKN is way more dedicated to working and accomplishing stuff at 14 than I was. I mean, I was a smart kid and I accomplished stuff - but only what was necessary of me or was assigned to me. Outside of that, unless it involved something exploding, I probably didn't research it at all or learn how to do it. And he's been working on Pulsebot with @J J (another awesome fellow) like a boss.
@Officer Barbrady is dedicated. Seriously dedicated. He's not the best scripter, not by a long shot, but he's taken an absolute retarded amount of shit from so many people and not only is he still around - he's still positive about it all.
@Olly is the only person I still ask scripting questions. They may not be often, but his knowledge of the include and what's built into simba is intense. I swear he has memorized the whole damn API. He's legitimately pretty smart for a kid ;)
@Sjoe is always a good source of fun around everyone and does a great job making people laugh.
@Turpinator is great at drinking. In fact better than me (probably). And his knowledge of relationships is absolutely unparalleled:
@xtrapsp is great!… at being british. Good job with that. I can't be British at all ;)
@Sin is really good at legitting all my Runescape for me ;)
And then of course there is: @Zyt3x (the league noob), @YoHoJo (the RWT noob), @Silentcore (the jmem noob), @CynicRus (the not noob), and many many more.
So let's call this a small start and hope for much longer and many more posts and scripts!
Oh yeah, and for reading (or maybe skipping to here) - have a Slayer script.
