I've searched for a while and can't seem to find an answer to this. I want to know how many users would have access to a script if I released it under Junior Member scripts. The search user function doesn't have a clause for member rank, and Junior Members isn't an official group as it would be if using phpBB.

I could write a script to browse through the entire member list and record how many of each rank there are, but this is extremely offensive to the database and I would like to avoid it. Plus I have other stuff to do with the 10 minutes I save

If you just wanted to get a general idea of how many junior members would see your script, go to http://villavu.com/forum/forum.php and scroll down to users active in the past 24 hours. Press the show all button. To get more accurate results, check each day ect.

I can guess. About 3k? But the amount of active junior members is much, much lower.

It looks like I may actually go through with this data collecting script. If I run a search for only members active within a certain amount of time it will be heaps less than the entire 110k user list. It will still be offensive to the database, but not nearly as much. Will post with results after I get them.

You don't really want to gather the amount of Jr Members, as there'll be loads of inactive members. You could get a good idea by looking at users active in the past 24 hours?

@Hobbit any chance you can enlighten us, think Jrs + last logged on within 3 months is a fair shout

Maybe you should write a script for it. If its for personal use, then I don't see how offensive it could be.
Plus, its not like your script will be abused anyway, most scripts don't even get 50 views here.

There are 4850 JR members total as of right now.

He means offensive to the DB as in a large number of queries




I will try to find the stats, I don't vB tracks activity stats per usergroup though.
