Fake beats

So recently, a friend of mine has started selling fake tours for £35. This is a high profit margin since you can buy them for around £7.50 / $12.
I'm considering buying some for myself and if they work really well, I might try and sell a few pairs (ofcourse I'd tell the buyers they are fake).
http://www.ioffer.com/i/2013monster-red-whiteby-dr-e-tour-in-ear-headphones-544273788 is where I'm going to buy them if I do.
So, what are your opinions? I'm not sure if I should buy or not :s

Dunno, school? friends? only want to sell a couple of pairs if I do. See how it goes, if it goes well make a facebook page and advertise on there or something…

Yeah. Google around, be careful cause you can get ripped off there. I'v never bought from there before. stuff like clothes don't necessarily fit like they should etc. But If its got a lot of good feedback I think its safe.

I think i'll pass, I don't really like "fake" stuff. My teacher would say: Fake shirt, jeans? whats fake about them since you can still use them. Unlike a fake $100 bill, you try to use one and the next thing you know ur in a legal issue.

Ok, I'v decided its probably a bad idea to sell them (though I might sell them to close friends or something)
Does anyone know the Uk laws on buying fake items abroad? :S

I'd be surprised if there were any laws about buying fake items, the issue is probably more with selling them.

Although if it's just for you buying headphones to listen with, don't buy beats at all, fake or real. Real beats cost more money than better sounding real headphones, fake beats cost more money than better sounding fake headphones.

If I were you I'd buy legitimate headphones from Audio Technica or if you want to spend less money go for some higher end Sony headphones.

I was reading into it last night. They can be seized if they discover they are fake and if they think they are real, they will charge VAT and a £8 handling fee.

Don't know whether to buy or not still… my friend who sells them as sold 1 pair of each, studios, tours and solos.
so he has probably made £40 ish. He's not getting them online, he buys em from some guy… who according to him doesn't get them off ioffer… but he could be lying to stop competition…

wasn't swag originally secretly we are gay, the LA gang of homosexuals only? Yes it was.. so not sure why everyone wants to be a member, I myself am straight

IMO OP would make a good living off selling them, considering there are so many swag member wanna-bes today

Nothing wrong with being gay ;) ask @sjoekloe all about it ;)
Anyway thanks for your input and you're more than right. There is probably plenty of people interested.
Still don't know whether to order them or not. I'm just concerned about customs when I import them in :P rest doesn't bother me…

I never said or brought up anything about it being wrong… Just the fact they don't want straight people in their group.

I kinda want a set for myself…
Honestly though not worth the hassle, I have a friend who "has a friend" who buys fake hats then my friends sells them to his friends for massive up pricing (He buys the hats for $8, sells them for $30-40). The last 3 orders of his (he had like 15 hats coming in each time, got seized by customs… soo its up to you, you might end up deep in the hole)

Me and my brother used to do this, got sued for selling fake products. Its not worth it. Well on eBay anyway

EDIT* We used to buy Beats Pro's 80 bucks (RRP $650), Beats studios were about 70 (RRP $350+). Oh and Nike Free Runs, <– got sued by nike lol. Bought them for 30 sold them for 70-120 each. Made lots of money but its not worth it in the end.

Not really, never claimed the products as real, and they were alot cheaper then buying it as 'real' because honestly the quality of the fake and real was incredibly similar too be honest. Why spend so much when you can get the exact same thing for 60% cheaper

I still use my beats everyday, had them for like 2 years now, not a single problem, and there fake.

Yeah I don't plan on selling online (well I was thinking about facebook but probably not now…). Its not like they can find out that I'm selling in my area? Unless someone reports it?
Glad to know yours are still working well. Did you ever have issues with customs?

For customs, surprisingly no, some sellers used to pack the goods in a fake generic box, displaying them as just a no name headset, but obviously inside it, it had the real deal. Some sellers used to just chuck 3-4 in one big foam box, tapped ridiculously, never had any problems.

And if you want them I got them from DHgate.com its difficult to find a good seller these days, as beats arent techniquely allowed to be traded on there anymore, but I still have connections to the sellers and will make private listings to be able to purchase.

Like if you dont buy to many, its not illegal to purchase it for own use i believe, especially when they dont claim them to be fakes.

Yeah, I only plan on buying 1-2 sets at first, and even after that I'll only order in small amounts.
How would I be able to get them exactly? I did a fair bit of research into ioffer and alot of people do have issues.

Ive never heard of ioffer, but DHgate is sort of like a eBay, but for wholesalers mostly in china. And you can talk directly to the sellers, to agree on a deal and what not. And its safe too, as the seller does not get paid until the buyer has agreed they received the item and is satisfied. Search for a seller named Zxww on there, I found him to sell the higher quality Beats products, and they can acctually speak decent english. Oh and get used to the "Hi friend" greeting haha.

Edit* most sellers, customer supports are 24/7 so you can always speak to someone to arrange something

ahh ioffer is fairly similar, but less fair to the buyer :')
anyway, I'll try the seller now! thanks alot! :D

Edit: Spoke to the seller. He was interested in your Dhgate name, if you could pm me it that would be great. It might knock off a few dollars :')
as for customs its worth noting that I'm UK but I would of thought AUS customs were tighter than the brits.

Prices we were talking:
2 pcs tours with controltalk i can give you is $46 via HK post
6pcs ,i can give you $20 per unit
studio black for one is $79.8 per unit via DHL my friend

Shame they don't take paypal but @Sjoe has a "bank card" which by I think he means debit so I should be ok… :P
Little pricer than ioffer but I don't mind paying a little extra for stuff thats recommended and ioffer does scam on occasions…

I used to sell these kinds at my school
http://www.ioffer.com/i/2014-monster-beats-by-dr-der-proo-headsets-detox-red-557027646
they are almost always metal and never really break. If they don't have a pair of real ones they never know the difference and I was making about $200 off of each one.

Dat dig :')
I don't want to do this anymore due to customs risks. Planning on doing some legit business (ebay business (see other thread and gold farming maybe).
Thanks for the reply all the same. Going to go ahead and close the thread.
