Why don't you come and hang around a little in Minecraft, while the script is doing all the boring work? :) A Minecraft Server with 100 slots, running vanilla with some plugins is waiting. Currently only 1.7.2 is working. Main focus is on anti-grief, anti-cheat and a vanilla-like game experience. The server is in offline mode, so you need to /register your name. It is a dedicated server with more than 32GB available and a strong CPU, so it could technically run more slots than 100.

Idea

I want this server be a community thing. I think it would be nice if the server is completely created by the community. You decide what plugins/mods/server software/rules and so on…
We will also need some experienced staff from different time zones, so it doesn't depend on one person


Commands

One of the main plugins is Grief Prevention. This video sums everything you need to know up:

With your first chest, you will claim a 9x9 blocks sized area, on which only you can build/break. While playing, you will get "blocks" (100 per hour), which you can use to increase your claimed area. Once you get a golden shovel, further instructions will pop up.

These are the commands to manage your claim:
/trust <player> - gives a player permission to build/break on your claimed area
/untrust <player> - removes that permission
/abandonclaim - while standing on a claim, you can abandon it

Im just very used to 1.6 because its what I have been playing, plus the tons of new blocks makes building a lot nicer! But if others want to stick to 1.5.2 for now thats fine as well.

Alright. For now it seems 1:0 for 1.6. As soon as my provider gives me the option I will update.

I am pretty laggy on the server, and cant talk at all.

Fixed talking, but still lagging once in a while, also I'm not using hacks :P Straight up vanilla MC for me

Are you sure they are "server-lags"? Whats your ingame name?
I might do a RAM upgrade if more user complain about lags.

Is this free? Is minecraft free on the computer?

You should set it to offline mode so people can play without buying the game.

Umm, I believe there is a portfoward program out there somewhere, but keep in mind it won't work unless you have a static IP

Just a heads-up to everyone who attempt to join: If I am online, I will ask "What is SRL?" to anyone who enters. Due to the huge amount of people trying to grief the server, please just answer the question and we'll let you out of the "Guest" group.

If you are banned by a mistake, just post here and we'll fix it :)

Anyone who just answer "srl?" or "idk" will get banned immediately, unfortunately. Redditor griefers has ruined it for new server members because we really do not want the server to be griefed…

Before updating the server to 1.6, let the plugins that you have installed be updated for it!

It works just like the standard shop plugin. You click on signs to purchase items but instead of just spawning items, it takes them from a chest. Players place chests with signs next to them and assign their own prices. Every player gets a small plot of land with protected chests to set up a shop.

Happens when I try to light some netherrack, was gonna use it as lighting

Also, sleeping in beds doesn't seem to set my spawn.
