SRL Archive - NOTA

It came with uTorrent.. Snuck its way in.. I thought i unchecked all the checkboxes..

Is it a virus? Google kinda seems to think so?..

I just wanna uninstall it.. But is that not enough?

What program do you guys use? (FREE)

I have none atm.

I used to use MSE but after some discussion on here a few months back (sorry can't find thread) I changed to BitDefender (the free version) and it's sweet. It was rated the top antivirus or something.

This is what I do when I find something weird on my PC.

Run this online scan:
http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/

Run a full system scan:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

Review all the startup programs.
Run msconfig.exe Look in the startup tab.

Use CCleaner to repair the registry.

Reboot my PC.

Reboot my PC.

After doing that get your windows disk and do a repair to fix the registry.

If it's Uniblue's registry optimizer then you're safe.

It's actually the only ad-ware that works free.

Ah yes, I forgot to state that I repair the registry using CCleaner. The windows disk will work just as well.

Although perhaps not a virus, I try my hardest to remove unwanted adware because it's bloaty and annoying. Once I got a toolbar accidentally while installing something, it was annoying how it automatically set itself up and made itself hard to remove.

If it's Uniblue's software it's not annoying it's the only ad-ware that works fine and i would recommend not removing it.

CCleaner doesn't have a lib of the clean files. for cleaning reg it's better to do windows disk. Otherwise, ccleaner is good for cleaning out crap
