So, I've been curious on who knows the most languages and is good at them. I am definitely not on this list, but I am curious.

I will mention that this includes every kind of language. So, English, French, German, etc. Along with scripting languages such as pascal, java, JavaScript, etc.

So,let me know who knows the most. :D

I will go first. I know English, French, pascal and C#.

Now… Blow me away with your knowledge!

english and well .. i speak some french, i do it on the side of my degree, but i would very much like to be fluent so i can spend some time in france once i graduate :)

how good is your french?

programming - java (although not that much unfortunately), C, objective-C (really enjoying iOS at the moment), pascalScript (thats what simba scripts are right?) and then bits of assembly, UNIX shell, html :)

Mips ASM, x86 ASM (Fasm, Nasm, Masm), C, C#, C++, Obj-C (The worse language in the world), Cobol, Java, Javascript, VB, Html(5), PHP, Perl, MySQL, TSQL, PLSQL/Oracle SQL, Pascal, Delphi, Haskel, Fortran, F#, Unix-Shell/Bash/Batch, Make, GLSL(OpenGL Shading language), (All.Net/Visual versions of the above)..

Some french/spanish (not too great at it at all.. Only enough to get things done)

Meh.. I was going to learn Google Go but its useless. Nothing special about it I guess.

Know or are familiar with?

I only claim to "know" English :) but I'm familiar with:
Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, (American) Sign Language, Manual English (it's a separate sign language);
Pascalscript, Java, C#, C, C++, ARM, MIPS, x86 ASM, VB6, HTML, Bash, Verilog, VHDL, TCL, iRules, and probably some others I'm forgetting.

Edit: Make is an extra programming language.

WOW….. How did you learn all of these or at least become familiar with these?

I can fluently speak Finnish (my native language) and English, but I can also speak small amounts of Swedish, German and French.

For programming: Pascal and VB

Make, as in a Make file? The type of file used for compiling/cleaning/etc languages like C outside of an IDE? If that's true I should add it to my list :p

Yes, yes and yes. I do hate Obj-C that badly. Its just the syntax is so different from other languages and it took me longer than most other languages to learn for the little use that I found in it.

I learned the languages mentioned from various programming/engineering jobs. Those are/were the requirements (I hated having to learn the legacy languages and API's). I teach/tutor programming as well..

And no its not that I'm familiar with it. I actually know them pretty well. x86-ASM/C/Cpp is my strongest though. It doesn't take long to learn a language once you know a couple already; learning another becomes easy.

I'm jealous… :p

But that is pretty amazing that you know all of that.

Arabic, Hebrew, English: fluent in all three.
French: Mainly Read & Write, I know all the grammar by heart.
German: Studied one year, now completely forgot the language.
Ancient language: Middle Egyptian - advanced, studied this deeply, easiest language to learn as long as you have a Faulkner. Latin: pretty much forgot everything.

Computers: Only thing i remember is Pascal, forgot C#/HTML, interested in learning java script and maybe even java.

English is my 1st language so I can't really take credit for that.
I learned french for 6 years in school, forgot almost all of it once I started taking German instead
I've been learning German for 3 years, I can speak almost useful sentences in the present tense.

I'll say pascal because I know the syntax ect, but tbh I can't use it for anything other than scripting for Simba.

English is my first language, Japanese is my second.
And of course, I'm slowly learning pascal :)
