whenever I minimize the client it keeps popping right back up and interrupts whatever I'm doing. This gets really annoying and sometimes it happens like every 5 seconds.

Don't minimize it. Just let it run in the background. Or if its bothering you, drag it all the way to the right off screen or something but again don't minimize.

Alt+Tab everything infront of it.
