Im unable to find anything on my own, but im searching for a Windows 7 version of the old DEBUG that came with xp,me & all the other great Windows version's.
Im hoping to find something that does the exact same… like a clone with same commands all that good stuff, does anyone know of something like this?
I appreciate any assistance with this

NOTE* - I asked this at another place and everyone seems to think im asking for just any debugger, just so im clear im hunting one that is just like the one that came with windows in the past.. one with all the same commands and will do the exact same thing.
Thank you

Not possible at all.. I don't see how that even ran on xp/me.. Those are x32 OS as far as I can remember unless there really was a 16-bit version (too lazy to search ;) ). DEBUG runs on x16-bit OS's. Aka DOS, QDOS, etc.. There is no way you'd find DEBUG on Windows Vista, 7, 8.

Well at least I'm fairly certain that you can't. Running 16bit code on x32 registers simply isn't possible. I tried when first learning x86 Assembly.

I think the replacement for DEBUG was actually PowerShell but then again, I'm not too sure.

Debuggers I use(d):

OllyDbg
IDA-Pro
WinDBG
API-Monitor
My Own Decompiler
GDB
VS-Debugger
gDebugger

You can check those out. Don't expect it to be like DEBUG but I'm sure one of those would pique your interest.

Cheers.

I use all 3 of the top {3} you posted, i was just hunting the old Debug for nostalgia reasons… i used it on Xp when i was first learning x86 as well and i loved it… you cant beat it for teaching purposes.

I really appreciate your post! thank you much
