I don't think SMART is going to work if there's no Java applet.

Simba however, should continue to work.
There should still be a java applet at some level, as Jagex isn't rewriting their whole engine, they're just editing portions of it for improvements.

I hope you guys are right and it does still work cause I'm learning to script on simba, don't want it to be a waste of time lol

That's never be a waste of time, you always can bot "SMART"'less. :)

Didn't Jagex say they'd continue to use Java as well, or am I just making that up?

Yeah, jagex said they will still have a java client so we should be good, although its quite obvious we have enough smart people here to make a HTML5/webgl/whatever client if it came round to it :)

That's the truth. I also wouldn't worry about if SMART became unusable; if we still needed a way to run a Simba while still keeping control of the mouse & keyboard we can always look more into Appa.

SMART will work still.. as I noticed just because you can't find the "JAR" that is run in html5 page… You can actually see it's just an IFRAME of http://world6.runescape.com/,j0,f159146528859696069… So it's just different parameters I assume that's all as it still has a JAR FILE :P
