How to: Babysit (windows 7)

Hi,

I'm currently looking for a method to babysit (without dual monitors or just leaving a window open).

Now what I had in mind: In windows 7 when you move your mouse over a minimized program, you get this kind of 'small preview' The thought was to get this in a corner on my screen.

But I don't know how I can create this.
Another possibility would be a combination of both this and making it som sort of watermark.

I've been looking for a while but can't seem to get my head around it.

greetings

Rebel

Make a 'Somethings wrong' procedure/function and tell it to email/make a sound/sms you when something happens.

I know what you mean, made that (with playsound function) but atm I mean that I can visually see it when there's a random or so. Because I cba to open and close the window all the time to check if I'm still logged in, if you get what I mean.

(I'm studying on the computer anyways)

Thanks for the suggestion thou

People Usually make it play a sound, like a ringtone, when they need something for that.

You can search forums, there was a guide on how to make a script do that i saw a while ago. im sure its still there somewhere :)

procedure OnTerminate;
begin
PlaySound('C:\Simba\sound_terminated.wav');
end;
AddOnTerminate('OnTerminate');
This will play the sound file when it it terminates. It means when the script cant solve the random and logs you out, you will know about it. For anything else, you should make your own failsafes.

Think my question was not quite clear.

As I said, I've worked with the playsound function (I knew how to use it).

But i'm looking for a way to 'minimize' simba (percentually) and make it some sort of watermark on my screen.
So it is open, but I can 'see trough' that tab.

I was wondering if this function exists in windows 7.

if you hold your mouse on the java logo you see a little preview (you can see the bot moving etc) he wants this always but just in a corner of the screen.

Ok here's your answer.

Step 1: Put this code at the top of the script like you would any other function.
Procedure Mini;
begin
DrawBitmapDebugImg(BitmapFromClient (215, 115, 315, 215));
DisplayDebugImgWindow(100, 100);
end;
Step 2: Put this line of code in the -main loop- of the script.
Mini;
Step 3: Run your script like normal.

If you are good enough you can experiment with the function to display different or smaller/larger areas of the screen. After starting the script you can control the little debug box to move it to a place that is convenient for you.

Damn, I'm good. ;)

There's a program called Sticky Previews which does exactly what you're looking for. I'm using an AHK script which sets transparency and AOT of the SMART window.
