Hello,

I bought linux vps and trying to get simba working on it.

First I tried it on ubuntu, but I'm getting strange problems with ubuntu OS, now I'm re-writing mine Vps os to CentOS 5.


Here is what I do :

Installing wine

Installing windows version of java with wine

Moving whole Simba folder from mine home computer ( Simba works fine on mine home pc) to Vps via program called "WinSCP"

Then opening Simba with wine. I tried this on Ubuntu, Simba opens fine, but then some errors appeared when I tried to start script. I thought that may be because of that crap Ubuntu, I was not able to even launch Runescape via firefox after java installation, because on runescape I was getting error "Seems that your don't have java installed" …

So …

Should Simba be working after all steps I do ?

I saw yoholo guide, in there he says that after installing windows version of java, just follow windows version of guide.. But I think it is much more easier just to move already working Simba to mine vps.

Maybe there is someone who use Simba on VPS at this moment ..? If someone using it, please let me know. I could donate some runescape coins for help :)

Get wine's latest STABLE version, unstable version is a mess.

windows java 6 thru wine for better results.

Install simba thru wine.

Get Smart 8 (works better for me)

It is program that have 2 parts.

In left I can see mine home pc with all files in it and in the right i can see mine vps files and I can transfer files between home pc and vps without raring it.
