I l'll be an electrical engineer in a year and a half just wondering how many other people are here in the engineering profession

I doubt many.

I'm in the field of biomedical engineering. Any specific reason you are wondering?

<- Computer Engineer (roughly a mix of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering) with a Master's in Networking Security.

@Turpinator is an engineer of some kind as well… Umm… Mechanical I think?

My official Major in college right now is Chemical Engeneering but I'm changing it to Chemistry Major with Criminal Justice Minor at the beginning of next year probably.

Mechanical engineering is really fun and interesting stuff, I did some of it for a local firm (using various autocads) and when I had free time I messed about with 3Ds Max and the architecture one (Can't remember the name off the top of my head).

Going into chemical engineering next year most likely. Awaiting university decisions atm.

That is correct. Im mechanical. Originally was Electrical, but i realized that wasnt what i really wanted to do.
Throughout middle school and highschool i was really into computers and games, so i was like 'omg i wanna be a game desigener/[rogramer, but that was just like one of those things 'i think it would be cool, but i would probably end up hating it as im not creative or something', so i went into Electrical (had considered like IT, but didnt want to be tech support) which was a combination of some Software Engineering (not too much) and the actual physical components of computers. idc how the physical crap on a computer works tbh, so i ended up switching to mechanical as that allowed me to have physical parts to machines and stuff. And i liked working in shops and stuff doing actual labor, sitting at a computer all day is no fun. annnyway yeah.

ps, im slightly drunk so this may be a little… hard to follow.

mechanical engineering, and I am not the only one. A lot of us are in some kind of engineering.

I'm looking to get a degree in Biomedical Engineering. Where'd you get your degree from? :) I'm curious as I need to look for colleges and other programs.

I think that's really awesome, SubiN! I wish I had the knowledge you have right now of electrical engineering. We (company owner and I) have some crazy ideas of creating a R&D division in the future that has to do with like clean, renewable energy, filtering water (because in this country, drinking water from the tap can kill you), dealing with garbage, ect…

I've always been a sucker for clean energy alternatives like solar and wind, specifically. Should our company ever get to this point I'll be taking a course in electrical engineering. So as I said before, I sure with I had your knowledge on the subject. :p

Very far away from being a chartered engineer, but doing an electronic engineering degree starting this September.

@Flight mind if I ask whereabouts you're from?
