When loading smart8 - it pops up for no more than a second and then disappears.

"Could not start up Old School RuneScape or RSReady was not detected!
Successfully executed."

Any ideas? Thanks

(PS I am running Simba via Wine on Mac)

Have you installed the oldschool runescape client data properly?

I dont have a mac nor have i ran into this problem before. Im just trying to help. XD

I have followed the RSDanny guide and it all seems to be working for a split second, before the SMART8 crashes and disappears… I have tried re-installing and am not having much luck :(

While you wait, you could always learn to script. Its kinda fun! You should give it a shot. Do EOC because you cant load Old school. Lolz.

But seriously… Have fun! Enjoy your time here!

There is whole range of tutorials in the beginner tutorial section. I'd probably check out Coh3n's and Griff's which are stickied at the top :)

Mine would do the same thing, closing before even a second. When I tried to open it from Simba, it said it couldn't find SmartParams.Simba (even though it was blatantly existent in the proper folder). So I found 2 solutions.

Redownload the binary SMART8 zip (yes, again) and replace your files

[INDENT]If you like the old RS, redownload the params file and replace the old one.
I can't post links, so search for the thread "smart8 error, ive been getting this error in the last 2 days"

If you prefer the new, enter this code in Simba and run it:

program new;
{$DEFINE SMART8}
{$i srl/srl.simba}
begin ClearDebug();
SRL_SIXHOURFIX := TRUE;
SMART_FIXSPEED := TRUE;
SetupSRL();
end.program new;
begin
end.
