So, i was thinking about building a computer just after the summer and I want a pretty decent gaming computer that i can bot hard core on. Anybody got any ideas on what i should buy?

I was thinking about putting it together by myself, I am just not too knowledgeable on absolutely everything.

So please feel free to let me know what you recommend.

Thanks!

Well first things first what do YOU want , i mean you must have some idea of what hardware you would like …
altho i should probably ask what you expect ie, what do you want from your build to do , do you want the next uber quad-core 32gb ram 400-user web server A gamers pc cthat can play crisis2 at full and not make a sound or just a bog standard word proccessor.

are you restricted by budget, how much do you plan to spend?

If you can give me a budget and a roundabout about how fast you want it, Ill be happy to shop around for you and look for parts to recommend, first things first, you know how to build a basic PC right? Cause my first build was hard af because I just dove in, I regret that XD

My max budget would have to be around $1500. I would want a decent gaming computer or something that can multitask very well. XD

Thoughts?

You should check out Austin's builds. He has builds for a whole range of prices, it might help you to get some ideas.

My best suggestion would be to lurk around newegg and tom's hardware forums for a while. You get a sense of what you're doing and slowly begin to understand the parts of the computer and what you're actually putting together.

I built my computer last summer and its really not that complicated. And I also enjoyed the process and am enjoying the computer very much.

I know what the components of a computer are and i have a basic understanding of what it all does. I just have issues with knowing what to get because i never really know what to go for or not.

Go with austin's builds, they are good(: 1500$ is more than enough to get a beast of a computer.

The most i have ever done when i come to Building PCs is taking them apart and looking at them. Never build one on my own, but i get how to put it all together.

Although, I am not good with having to mount things to the shell. I've always been scared to do that.

If your aiming to bot, get a better cpu. Depending on how many bots you want to run the better cpu you need. I have Intel 3930k ($550)_ I an run about 15 samba scripts really easy. If that's more then you would use probably go with a 3770k you can do about 8-10 scripts, decent graphics card for games, and your set. you price point is about $1k, for the 3770k build, and 1500$ for the 3930k build. If you need any help feel free to message me.

About 3 months ago I put together my first build. Was around 800$ and i'm able to run about 8 Virtual Machine's. Could probably run around 10-15 Simba Bots.

I have and AMD Processor. Which is best for gaming ;)

Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103960

Wish list which has my full build I think.. I might have changed some things: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=24654467

The PSU is actually pretty horrible. I'd suggesting getting a different one.. I didn't realize that till AFTER I got it lol.

Eventhough the CPU is important, from my experience RAM is the limiting factor when running heaps of bot clients.

You think so?

THen, maybe I should update my RAM! Lolz. Never thought of that. Would the video card or motherboard or processor also have anything to do with lagg and other crap?

BTW, my current CPU is a desktop that has an Integrated Video card… I cried when i first opened it up.. Lol. JK.

Gaming computer requires more money and better equipment then the normal PC. I am not very good in computers but I mostly use computers for my lectures and educational purpose so i will suggest you as per your requirement you should check your nearest hardware relaters so that they can guide you very well about what you you should do.
