So, I was botting fletching at Soulwars for 3 weeks. I know I got reported at least 4 times. So today I logged in and…
…discovered that my rather offensive In-game name in no longer available . Just… lmao :D , they look at the report, know i'm botting and just dont give a single fuck about it :p .

What's the proof?

BTW I botted farming at livid farm all the way to 99 and KNOW people have reported me because many times Id check upon myself to see people screaming "bot" and other things and yet nothing.

They only care about whatever makes them more money. Which means they'll focus on a few high-level accounts and post publicly about it to make it look like they're doing something. Also, despite saying they'll update BotWatch to OSR, it seems they are manually banning them through publicized bot hunts. Again, doing little while making their customers think they care.

So far, my (and many others') overview of the situation has been that jagex just doesnt read the reports. This imo proved that they do read them but just dont care, which for me at least is quite astonishing - they waste manhours and resources on it but do empty work. I think they must have some secret criteria on which they ban ppl.

You know how much they loss when they do a bot nuke. Less botters, less income for them. Bot nuke will only keep the current players in game, motivate them to stay in game, but not grow more legit players. I recently just found that most botters will call others bots, and ask people to ban the botters, just to make them don't look like botters, lol.

I've been banned more than 100 times. But every time, its caught by mods when they do bot hunts, I don't think there's actually something called bot-watch.

The funny thing is that I swear I've heard a JMod saying that they rely mostly on BotWatch instead of reports somewhere in one of their livestreams. I'll see if I could find a bunch of transcripts for the streams and find that quote.

Found it:

13. Will reporting bots even be necessary with this new system? Are there plans to continue upgrading this system as the bots upgrade their systems?

Paul: I’m guessing that yes is the answer to that?

Mark: Yeah, so crucially here, we don’t rely on player reports in order to ban bots but we always consider the players to be our second line of defence. Bot watch is our first line of defence, the second line of defence is the players. If all of a sudden there was new botting activities that were occurring in the game in places where there weren’t bots before, basically all of the bot reports that we get we can see on a heat map. It will show us the big areas where there are lots of reports of bots. So lets say all of a sudden there are a load of reports going on in one area that we’d never had a problem before, we can focus our attention on those areas and we can deal with the problem straight away. In order for us to do that we need the reports from the players. So we don’t need the reports in order to ban individual bots, but we do need the reports to let us know what’s going on in the game.

Edit 2: Wrong quote lol

They don't have to look at your account to remove your in-game name. Most the time j-mods do it via the forums, so they never interact with you account.

Maybe they weren't sure you were botting :D
They could only remove the offensive name

They do ban waves, last one cut out like 30k bots.. Botters rebuild and then get banned again, overall there is a lot less eoc bots then in last 2 years mostly. Prices of ores/ herbs / bars reflect that

Haven't heard of ban waves recently.. I think one is soon to come

Speculation is speculation. Jagex has actually done a couple of intense ban waves in the last couple months of EOC. If Jagex really depended on the income from botters so much, they would've told us in some way or form. Lying to your customers is a very big mistake which no legit business would do.

Maybe they just do not like the F2P bots. Maybe the ones that pay are given more grace, Unless it is completely obvious that they are bots. I can say that I have been reported many times and the reason i didn't get banned could have been the fact that I was a member. Usually, I wouldnt bot if I was a not a Member.
