Is it possible and is it a good idea to have this feature?
So we don't have to deal with newly created accounts private messaging phishing links/viruses to other members

Examples shown here with fresh, newly created accounts that have no posts/activity besides 'Private Messaging'

I think this would be a good idea, but if we set it too low, it may increase spamming to get to that number, but it if it was too high it would punish legitimate users. I would make it like two days/ a day time restriction.

Most thread based spam bots are caught by their 3rd post. So I'd imagine having a post requirement of 5-10 posts prior to PMing would be fine as that still is a fairly low number for most people to reach.

I don't know if this is the best way to go about it. It's certainly worth considering if possible to do.

I think with 0 posts and no posting links would be reasonable but at 0 posts I was asking scripting questions so I shouldn't have to spam the forum for posts to ask questions about scripting…
