This is my way to using PayPal, I am in no way saying this is the best way, but I have never lost a charge-back.

Creating your PayPal account
There is one and only one type of PayPal account you should use for trading Runescape items and scripts in my opinion; a business verified account. This means linking your PayPal account to your bank account, confirming social security number and confirming your real home address.
Why do this you may ask? Simple, this gives PayPal the reassurance that you are really who you say you are, removes the 500$ monthly withdraw limit and also removes your transaction limits, you can view all benefits of being verified here.
What does verified status look like?

Once you see this on your account, it has been verified, it will also show on the checkout page of any websites plus to all visitors of your page.
Create a business account here
Choose individual as the type, and that you are selling computer goods. Make sure to indicate that they are intangible. This will show you intend to sell intangible goods in the first place, good for later on.
How to receive money
This is a big issue when dealing with charge-backs, you send as a gift, easily charged back, send as a payment, its harder. Most people think the contrary, however sending the payment as a gift will not help you in any way and actually will only hinder you. This is because the person has ump-tine reasons to charge-back a gift, maybe they don't like you anymore ect. With money sent as payment for goods/service, it narrows the list down to having to deal with the good or service: not working properly, didn't receive, defective ect…
So, with fewer choices for a charge-back reason, fewer ways to have to cover!
You want the money sent as for goods or services with a note saying "Item has been received, it is intangible, this is my skype:BlahBlahBlah". Item received is obvious I think, It being intangible means Paypal does not cover it, Skype name is so if you need to send PayPal a conversation you had with the buyer (has saved me a few times).
None of this will guarantee 100% that PayPal will side with you, but it has never failed me.
Dealing With Charge-backs
Here comes what most of you are actually here for, the charge-back section. Well I'm going to say this now, if you haven't followed the above steps, don't expect this section to work very well. THEY NEED TO BE FOLLOWED!
Step 1: Do not immediately file a counter dispute, wait at-least a day to escalate to a dispute. Why? This shows that you are open to negotiate and help the buyer if possible. Respond to the buyers claim, no matter how ridiculous, with a helpful, nice, positive attitude. This will ensure you are cast as helpful and kind (which you should be anyways(; ) It will also show impatience and possibly expose the buyer as hastily trying to claim money back (Offer to help him and ask him to show any proof contact attempts were made prior to this claim)
Claims made against me by Sythe users who were banned for scamming

This list includes the most recent, I was charged-back for over 300$ worth of scripts by the same buyer, won all of them using this strategy.
This is the ultimate goal, you want PayPal to understand the item was not physical.

Example of a response (in the case, my actual response to the buyer)

^ I was probably a little ruder than I meant to be, guy was messaging me on Skype at the time. Notice how I stress I am willing to fix it? This is to show I am willing to help, PayPal loves to see helpful merchants! Show compromise (helping) and PayPal is more likely to see you in a good light as a honest seller. Still won as well.
Other dispute responses used by me:

^Handle 2 part trades like so.
Both were decided in my favor, their response

If the above steps are followed, you should win almost any dispute towards an intangible item you have sold (Runescape items and Simba Scripts ect..)
Dealing with fraudulent claims
This part of the guide is a bit more difficult and relies on slightly better people skills. Best bet here? Call PayPal, yes call. This shows you are very serious and think this matter needs attending to now! They will also believe so, why? You are going to inform them that someone is defrauding you using the Dispute function, ask them to check the IP's that sent the money and see if they match their account. The only way around this, I will not mention. If they do say the IP's are different, well then you are in trouble. If the charge-back is very very close to after the purchase bring this point up. Also make sure to really REALLY stress the intangible item. Even explain exactly what it is, Runescape gold (Money in a video-game) ect. This will show them you are not afraid to back your product and describe exactly what it is, or that it is in fact intangible.
Phone calls have always worked for me, but hey, I cant guarantee 100%
PayPal does not ban accounts trading virtual goods anymore, they don't automagically decide with the buyer, they just don't cover intangible goods at all for the buyer. So PayPal is no longer a virtual desert, use it, love it, don't get scammed!
E* Attempt at scamming me. I will post a guide later on how to gather evidence for a quick ban on Sythe, this used my PP guide and in dev Sythe guide.
