Okay, heres the deal - I think people with like 2 posts applying with no script and stuff, they propably think that you have to be SRL Member to use the forums. So would some other name replacing SRL Member be better?
like SRL Scripter or something… Cant invent any nice now but u get the idea..

Actually, when I first got here I had no clue that there was such things as SRL members, and I had no clue what they were.

So, since I couldn't script at the time, I was just about to apply with a blank app myself! :p

So maybe when people register they should see something explaining just a short paragraph about SRL membership, and how its not important to apply right away, and you can still use the forums without being it.

I mean, SRL member is a fine name, but registered user means your registered, but you could still say your a member of the forums. Thats the only thing confusing about it.

Because Everybody who's not a member/dev/admin/mod is still a member of this forum, just not a "SRL" member.

But if it was something short enough, not like a 15 paragraph rules of conduct thing, people may read it when its right in front of your face when registering, instead of needing to spend the time to look for it in the tuts section when you don't even know it exists.

SRL scripter would fit better and would be more understandable. :)

yea, I like SRL scripter. It kinda fits with SRL developer.

Where it says

Apply for SRL Member Status here…. "

have a short paraghraph where it says "apply for SRL member status here…" that explains that this not required to surf the forums, and something like "you should apply only if you think you'll be accepted"

Everybody who is a SRL member can script though true? Not counting the people that were here back when SRL forums was public, without a members only forum.

Either that or they got away with copying a script…

The one of the only reasons that I am a member is because I was here for so long, I got "Membered" when we went public again I think.

hmmm. I agree that SRL-Scripter cover the load more than SRL-Member, but…

Not all SRL-Members are SRL-Scripters. Only those that show persistence and progress in their work are rewarded the Azrael (SRL)-Scripters Cup. There are quite a number of Members that have been chosen not because of their scripting qualities, but on helpfullness, social skills, maturity and general ok ethical behaviour. This doenst mean these Members need to be very active, or productive or even have proper knowledge of the English language, it means they are ok according to the SRL Board Admins.
These "skills" are much more worth then uberleet pascal code, as you can graps from the general board atmosphere. We will keep this the way it is, even though it is a lot of work going through all the apps each week.

And, isnt "Member" of the SRL-Board more clear than "Scripter" of the SRL-Board?


But, you have got a point there. We can make adaptations to the appliances and clarify that Membership is really Scriptership and cut down on the 15 pages rules of conduct. We will take a look at that. I will apply one of these days, and see how it works :) <jk>

Naa if it would be respected srl member theyd think were some kind of VIP's at the forums instead of having something to do with coding and helping in srl and other things..
