Well, this weekend was a terrible weekend.

I have been scammed a few times. The first was a completely stupid mistake on my half… I keep thinking why i was so retarted and did that.

The other was with player auctions lol. Some dude used a phisher to get me. This time i did my best to make sure the email was legit. I checked the offer, price, buyer, but the one thing that i didnt notice….. The Order ID. :duh: :duh: :duh:

I stinking missed the Order ID!!! Ahh!!! :fiery:

I dont know how i could have been such a bonehead, but i lost around 250M.

But hey, what can i do? Lolz. Guess thats my luck. Lolz.

Anyways, i needed to vent cuz PlayerAuctions' customer support was kinda depressing. Lol.

How did player auctions scam you? Like how I'd you get scammed using them?

I understand your pain, I got scammed more than 500m before. A lot of chargebacks back then until I found PlayerAuctions.
Got phished one time, I know it is a phising site, it was 5am in the morning and I haven't slept yet, and I typed in my real login ID and password. And went to sleep LOL. Then just realize what I did the next day.
Even got scammed in PlayerAuction once. The guy had 2 account with similar in game name. (Ex. StickToTheScript, StickTotTheScript). Just one extra letter. So I thought it should be fine and if the guy didn't confirm trade on PA, I can easily win this case dispute. But no, PA staff are retard, they say it is not a scam, it is due to my failure to check on buyer's in game name correctly, and that was a 200m trade.

A guy private messaged me asking if i was available and if i could add him to skype. So, i added him on skype and said that i was good.

He then began to tell me that he was going to make the offer on player auctions. I agreed and waited. Then i got an email with my offer ID and all the info about the purchase, but i didnt check my actual Player Auctions account to see my disbursements and fees log, where you can see if you have any pending offers, which i should have!

I then noticed that it contained all the info about my offer, and i had agreed to trade him the money. So, i traded him the money and asked him to confirm the offer. He then did so and i thought all had gone well. I then recieved my email about the confirmed offer and waited for my paypal to recieve money.

So i waited…. 24 hours…. 48 hours….. nothin…..

So i talked to the customer support and they told me i was phished and there was nothing that they could do except ban the account on playerauctions.com and if i wanted to, i could email the emails i had recieved from the fake playerauctions email to their reports email. So i did the same.

Now, i will point out that the email was exactly the same as all the other emails i recieved from playerauctions. it was [email]support@playerauctions.com[/email]

So, yeah. Just be careful.

Yeah, you can spoof email addresses so that they appear to be from whoever. My advice is to use an email like this as a notification/reminder to go look at the page in question, because the information in the email will almost always be avaliable on the website.

Almost everyone has been scammed at least once. A lot of us has it happened more than once. You learn to pick yourself up and start all over. Sadly s*** happens. Just find a good money making bot and before you know it, you'll have all that money back.

Ah I lost about 3b, a few months back but that was my fault I was flaunting my wealth in the wild …not really a scam :p

Lol at that point I had around 10b so money was a meh factor to me, good times.
Money comes and goes, you have to learn to live happily without it.. real life advice too ;)

No but seriously, yeah you'd be sad about it for a bit but you will realize its just a game and will make it all back. Just set up a bot, which takes less then a few minutes, and before you know it you will be rich again. It's what I did.

PlayerAuctions ftl. Use MB/bank transfer/WU, a lot less problems if you're a regular seller.

Just like to add to this, which is actually pretty pathetic.. that's how email works, 100% of it is "spoofed" it's all faked. The only reason to use legit credentials is so you can get a correct return.

by default pretty much every web coding language (python, php, c++, ASP, C#, .net? whatever) takes your message, takes what name you "have" and sends that to the person you emailed.

It's pretty pathetic.


Same deal with phone numbers though, you can give someone any number you want and say it's yours.. they'll only be able to call you if you give them legit info though. Phone company being the middle man in this case and they can say so and so is calling from whatever number they want, but they use the correct one… because they feel like it

I lost a lot Pking 2-3 months ago, was in full torva plus a dry-gore long-sword and chaotic Rapier/: I was doing a high risk against someone on YouTube and died by a sliver, he was wearing same so it was even I guess.

I got my zamorak platebody lured from me a few years ago back when they looked nice, never been scammed since. I'm just glad I learned my lesson then and not from something more expensive or less replaceable.

They mobbed us >.< I think it was bonesaw if I remember correctly. I was out with DH and killed him for armadyll, he asked if I wanted to high risk and he beat me :p

First thing I ever lost was a dragon chainbody when it was worth 25m, way back. A 'friend' with 2 phats scammed me. Couldn't believe it, but oh well. Stuff happens and now I've got money again thanks to botting.

Paypal has lost me lots of money over the years. It is way to easy for the buyer to charge back. :fiery:

Yeah. I plan on making it back. Its a bit of work tho. Cant quite find a good MM bot. LOlz. Nor do i know any good methods. But hey, over a period of about 40-60 days or possibly longer, i should have all that i have lost back… hopefully…

Flight's ZMI alter made me around 100m getting to 99. Soooo I'd say that's a pretty good MM bot.
I also made quite a bit on a herb bot, forgot who's, but I got my 99 herbalore by making 450k attack potions which also made me 20m in the process because guams were very cheap at the time. Don't know how the market surrounding them is right now. But if guams are no good, you can make unfinished potions. I made HUGE money making unfinished attack potions, just checked the prices and made sure I wasn't losing profit. It's how I got my 99 prayer. If guams are no good, im sure there are other herbs/unfi potions you can make that will give profit and they are always in demand.

Past your bed time eh? I always go to bed after my parents. That way I just set it up and pow tomorrow morning I've made like 5m give or take. Well that was what I used to do way back, now I've got my own laptop.

Sorry, I don't really know what else to suggest trying. Botting over night is really the best way.

Lol i've been receiving these mails too, even alerted PA to warn its users…always check the message source ;)
Also notice how fraud emails always address you as 'Dear User/Player' rather than ur account name.

I remember when I got scammed in Runescape and lost my rune sword because my friend IRL sold it to buy himself runes so he can train his magic on another account I was so sad
