I tried to find the best place to put this. If its the wrong section, just move :)
Just browsing the web, looked accross RID.
Seems pretty cool because they are a anti-goldfarming community.
They just make scripts for the purposes of exp and learning.
Seems pretty legit.
What are your thoughts of RID? Experience? Strats? Anything?
Please Share. :)

$8 for 100 hours, all the way up to $65 for 1000 hours.
Rid is a 100% closed source community, I have. Never liked them they tend to be ignorant. Sorry to talk trash about another community but its just the truth.

Oo a bot you pay by the hour for? hmm had a look at their about us page and seems a great concept using AI, especially the fact that they can even reply to chat from other players aha
Also considering the fact that only one person runs the site, develops the bots, and does updates… Needless to say the bots become outdated quite quickly.

Yeah or I could understand paying if they had scripts we don't have here for free (or if they work 10 times better).

Im pretty sure we could recreate any of their scripts 10x better because we don't have the screen - server send lag to worry about, and we can handle it all locally,
I used them wayyy back when I first started botting, but couldn't get the bot to run for more than 30mins without randomly breaking, so I gave up and never used them again, the time between mouse movements also looked really botty and slowed down xp,
AFAIK they are still closed source and are only a community for botting, I personally prefer Simba because it's faster, opensource, and obviously it's free!

Biggest load of crap i have ever heard. One person makes the bots. and he iv VERY good at it. Bots become outdated very quickly? System updates don't even effect the bot so how did you get to this conclusion?
RiD is great community and offers some amazing bots. Not a single person has been banned using it since it launched. The bots dont effect the economy as they are experience based and not made to "make bank".
Seriously don't take my word for it.. come pop over and see for yourself

This is what we're talking about when we say ignorant users. Every time jagex does a graphical update it takes weeks for the got to be updated. And " not s single person being banned" is not true. It's just a sale tactic to suck ignorant users in like yourself.

If you can keep it civil, I don't see why you can't have a debate in this topic. It's relevant to the conversation at hand, and I know that I'd definitely be interested in reading both sides of the argument.
I used RID a few years ago (the trial scripts), and there's no denying it's a good bot. Of course, there's a couple of downfalls.
- It's closed source
- The cost is hardly negligable
- There's a very limited number of scripts
- I'm not sure if you have to do this anymore, but switching to classic Windows view was really annoying
There were, on the other hand, some seriously good upsides to RID, like how human-like everything else, and how reliable the scripts are/were (for me anyway).
Like all bots, I suppose it has it's pros and cons, but it just wasn't for me.

If anyone followed their guidelines you wouldn't be banned no matter what bot you used even one as crappy as RSBot.
The guidelines consist of something like bot 6-7 hrs a day with 3 45 minute breaks in between.

I've been using the RiD beta smither for OSRS and i must say it's going pretty well, you don't need to pay a thing for the basic scripts but even they're good.
RiD has a better choice of scripts for OSRS - AIO smelter, Power Fisher, AIO Crafter and RiDiverse(alcher, fletcher, etc)
SRL has a better range of scripts for OSRS
It's a very trustworthy bot, it just depends on what script you want :3

All RiD O7 scripts are free at the moment as they're in beta. I just used RiD Diverse to get myself 99 fletching, it also made me 10mil from selling the Yew longs. It has a few problems such as miss-clicking and sometimes getting stuck but other than that it's a fantastic bot, the mouse movements are just brilliant, you could stream the bot fletching and no one would realise you were botting.

Closed source, not scriptable, not about learning, paid, no thank you.
RID is ok , i still have 77 credit from my friend so i will end up using it something ( or selling it for a mil in rsgp).Overall the bot is good and better then some other bots i have seen, the only downfall is the price / the fact it takes over your computer ( i know you can run vm on it but regardless, its still a hassle)

I have "popped over" and tried out RiD. I spent an arm and a leg buying 100 hours only to find the bots slow, mediocre, and buggy. I consider myself fairly computer savvy so i'm positive I had the client and settings set up for "perfect" use and I could rarely get a script to run for over an hour. The only thing I liked about RiD was the forum layout and icons (different ranks and the icons you received for botting a certain amount of hours and maxing different skills). The scripts are incredibly simple and on top of that, it is not unbannable. RiD can only dream to be as efficient as Simba. can't believe I waste my money on RiD when free, flawless scripts were available right here. May I direct you to a script written by Ashaman88? Human mouse movements, flawless anti ban, 6 hour client reload, etc. The only reason I stop the script i'm running is because I want to play legit for a while."seriously, don't take my word for it. Come pop over and see for yourself". ;) After using one of Ashaman88's scripts, tell me RiD is better.

I did. You have to understand, it was right after the botnuke and I was desperate for some form of macroing. I found Simba not long after buying 100 hours and regret it.

RiD is designed to bot your main with, without having to worry about being banned. i have used RiD for 4 years now. although i did get a temp ban on my main during a jagex mod sweep back in 2011. is the only time anyone has been banned using RiD. and only a handful got busted. for what i seen is everyone complaining about prices. i guess that depends how much legit playing u want to put into your main to get 99s without the risk of being banned… guess i would rather bot 99s without being banned as every other bot does

You need to use your eyes more if you have YET to see a good script. Maybe the 07 section has a lot of first timer scripters but there are also a lot of good scripts and ive seen many posts with great progress reports and even recently with someone getting 99 fletching in 07.

I know that Simbat and SRL have a long history of excellence. And I know that RID charges a stupidly high amount of money to use their bots, which plenty of people say don't work nearly as well as advertised. And I know that you have claimed that we don't have any desirable scripts either, when we have a Superheater, a Range Guilder, Flax Spinners, Power Fletchers and more. I don't know how well they work, but we certainly have them, and I'd consider those types of scripts desirable.
