SRL Archive - News and General

Hi guys, I've new to Simba and this Villavu forum in general and I don't know how to set it up for OldSchool. I've downloaded Simba, updated everything, SRL, SPS, MSI, all that. I've downloaded smart version 8.0, extracted it to the plugins folders as instructed. To check if this was all set up, I pasted that… example scripts thing which starts Smart AS INSTRUCTED IN THE GUIDE, and it fails. I've done this step over 3 times, reinstalling and everything, fully updated Java, failed.

I just need help, and all these guides are either outdated or not very friendly to new users, or as you guys say, "Leechers" LOL.
If you guys could help me via skype, that would be far more helpful, I could share my screen and show you.

I'll help you what I can within this thread. Let's start at the beginning, what happens when you try to run a OSR script? Also, you are using the SRL-OSR include right? Tell me any errors you get when you run the script.

I think you might have to help me with everything :confused:

I'm basically up to opening Smart8.0 on EOC.

I've extracted "SRL-OSR-master", changed it to "SRL-OSR" into Includes, downloaded "Fonts.zip" into Fonts.

Where do I go from here?

Alright, inside inside Simba paste & compile this bit of code:

{$DEFINE SMART8}
{$i SRL-OSR/SRL.Simba}

begin
  SetupSRL;
end. 

If it compiles fine for you simply run the script, SMART 8.0 should start and load up a random world in OSR. If so then you have no problems.

I just pasted a really simply script into Simba "Teacups Delux" and where its taking centuries to log in…

How do I now make it work for 07? You seem to be more help to me than these guides

I've yet to hear exactly what the problem is here. I will assume the script "Teacups Delux" is for EoC, and you want it to work in OSR? That's close to making a whole new script mate. That's something you either talk about with to the script-writer or you request that script to be made. If your Simba/SMART/SRL are all working fine then you're in the wrong place asking the wrong questions.

Instructions for using scripts are usually posted on whatever thread you got it from. Loading the scripts is very simple. Click on a script you want to run (probably attached to a forum post), open it in Simba, fill out anything that you might have to near the top of the script (constants, your name/pass/pin/world, again setup instructions should be in the thread you find the script in) then simply compile & run the script.

Give that a try and if you're having problems post here and I'll see what I can do.
