We can all get jealous or envious that some other person has that new car you've always wanted and you don't, or can afford to go all sorts of places, etc etc. It's normal feeling I suppose, but it's one we can definitely live WITHOUT.

I was at my godparents new house. They were having a housewarming party. They bought it for around 900,000$. I'm happy for them but some of those people who were supposed to be your friends CLEARLY weren't…
One went "ha ha now you're 1m in debt"… er ha ha? Why's that funny?
Another said "woah these floors are horrible, change them bro right away, terrible". 10,000$ floors…Um excuseeeee me? This coming from a person who doesn't even OWN a house, but RENTS a 1 bedroom apartment.

This other situation happened a while back, but we were again at one of our friends housewarming parties and same thing one woman commented "you must have dealt drugs to buy this place, ha ha ha" and we're all looking at each other with confusion.

Againn another instance where one of our friends who very rich bought a brand new Mercedes Benz 100,000, but was scared to take it out at what people would think.

My family isn't rich. And sure I'd get envious sometimes when someone has something more than me, its normal, but it only makes me want to work harder so that some day I too can have that.

I don't know man, it's f-ing ridiculous at how vicious and rude these people can be. And they're supposedly your friends. I don't know how other communities are, but it makes me sad to say I'm from the same country as these people. (not talking about Canada)

Agreed. People were saying my dad was involved in a scam when he took his E350 to a party.
They aren't really your friends, just acquaintances.

When my parents bought our house, we got crap from everyone. "How are you going to pay for the kids college now, etc, etc…" The only real people who were happy for us our close family friends the rest were just like Sin said acquaintances

Happens all the time, I work to buy my stuff, I work hard and earn money. I have a new iphone, ipad, car ect. People always make jokes and poke fun at me about how I must have done crap to get them ect..same thing with my family, new Cadillacs ect. People who are happy are the close friends.

It's pretty sad when people talk like that.
I keep thinking what are people going to say when I buy a new car for myself. I've been saving and have enough saved for half of the price of an average car. Can't wait to hear.

Bah some people. Sometimes it seems they aren't happy unless someone else is unhappy. I think it comes from insecurity in their own lives. Anyways grats Neznam…now I gotta come visit you ;)
