sick of being called a leecher? with trolls sending you on mission to solve things like dtms not freed?

some rules of interest

We do NOT obfuscate our scripts, we do not encrypt them. You are free to do so, but you are not allowed to post any reference to it on SRL.

this is when they make simba commands = different words or HIDE STUFF so you can't learn from thier script. i have noticed this in some 07 scripts

……..You post a script, people will leech it. It's as simple as that……… (No Anti-Leech system)

We do NOT log any RuneScape account details // i noticed some scripts take screenshot of ip

so what the hell is a dtm not being freed anways?

its when the script is not closing the gfx files which after starting stopping and switching scripts a lot can really bog down your pc possibly even causing it to overheat and possibly freeze/hard crash or die if its old enough and if the person never reboots for days(alot of people do)

in my eyes this is a serious problem

i don't understand this community everything has to be the hard way

i see it all the time someone reports a bug or error like dtm's not freed or whatever

and depending on the scripter no one ever fixes it and the trolls play head games with you.

sometimes a nice person comes along and helps but his post will be buried in a week or two and who want to search 32 pages or people who's dtm wasn't freed and the trolls toying with them

scripts shouldn't be allowed to be released with a bug like this or any bug for that matter

because after all Bugs do increase your chances greatly of being banned.

that is why we report them

i dunno am i crazy?

A script not feeing 1 or 2 small DTM's/BitMaps will have next to no impact on your computer, if anything, it will just keep it DTM\Bitmap in Simba's memory, once Simba is closed, it's freed anyway.. I don't see the point in OP's thread…

You have quite an odd/confusing way of talking :/ hard to read your post(s).

I think you are misinformed about that is going on.

No one is calling anyone a leecher or trolling anyone with problems. SRL is a very kind and helpful community for the most part.

The DTM/Bitmap not being freed is not a bug or error, it's just a code hint to the scripter to add lines to free them.

This hint is not a problem in scripts, and often time the real error line is written ABOVE those lines and points you to an error in a specific line of code.

I believe that upon stopping a script however, that Simba forces them all to be freed and not left in memory. This will definitely not bug, freeze, crash, or bog down your computer as DTMs and Bitmaps are only a few kb in size and as I said they are freed by Simba upon stopping a script.

This happens almost ANY time you prematurely stop a script, since the script was stopped prematurely it did not get to execute the lines which free the DTMs/Bitmaps.

So when you are getting errors in a script look a few lines ABOVE the DTM/Bitmap hint to find the real/actual problem in the code, and based on that you can get help.

"We do NOT log any RuneScape account details // i noticed some scripts take screenshot of ip"

This is done by the SRL Include, it's meant to happen, we had some members suggest that SRL should take a screenshot of the last IP logged in as people were finding that someone else had log on their account and they were unable to find the last IP due to SRL logging them in, the automatic screenshot is there so members are able to go back and check the last IP…

As Justin said it's to help users it's not for anything malicous. You can access the screenshot @ Simba\Includes\SRL\Logs it's just to help :3

This is a unfair statement. Scripts are released to be tested. A scripter cannot test evey function and every possible outcome. Also as the scripts get more complex and greater in length bugs are always going to occur, especially as Jagex updates the game. If you don't like the script, don't use it?

With botting there is always a chance of being banned. A tiny bug is unlikely to "increase your chances greatly of being banned". If you really don't like a way a script is written don't use it and write your own.

The DTM errors are not errors. S?mba tells you taht the script forgot to free them from the memory, so it does it itself. It doesn't affect anything.
There are IP screenshots that are SAVED ON YOUR OWN COMPUTER so that if you got hacked, you will have a copy of the IP.

If someone ahs something hidden in their script (ie some lines are spaced all the way to the right) you can report it and it will get deleted.

If a scripter is forcing you to edit the script to make it run, then you can report it.
>This does not mean you can report it if you get a "can't find SRL-OSR" error, that's your own fault and you don't need to modify the script file to fix it

No scripts here are obfuscated or encrypted, they are all 100% open source, open the .simba file and read it for yourself! There are also tutorial and help sections, and you can always ask the script creator if you have any questions about his code. Nothing is hidden, it's all open source.

IP addressed are logged locally only, to your own computer. This way if you happen to unfortunately get hacked, Simba will give you a screenshot of the IP address of the hacker. Besides that no usernames or passwords are logged, and absolutely nothing is sent anywhere over the internet.

I think you need to take a deep breath, relax, and do some research first before all of this anger and accusations!

yes i understand my friend they have to be debugged i am only talking about minor bugs that mess up compiling or dtm's not being freed due to scripting errors not crashes

thank you for your time

not accusing thats why i didnt say any scripts and the ones i think i seen may have been before everyone was told to remove anti leeches

basically what i am trying to do here is educate and give awareness to the recent influx of new patrons to this site

user awareness = accountability

nope i can't name 1 my friend

even if there's not, the way some people will reply back to someone that has a problem is disrespectful. i ain't gonna point no fingers but there's more then a handful of them. and if all they gonna do is quote the guy and post some random wise crack about a leecher then they shouldn't even bother posting because its a waste of space that's gonna spawn more wasted spaces

they can't call me a leecher anymore i donated $10 this morning and i haven't ran this bot in 3 days go check my records

In no way trying to be mean - but how how are donations related to leeching/not leeching? Who did you donate to, as if it was villavu, you are automatically instated with a new cup which I don't see?
Since we don't record any instances that anyone uses this bot, there aren't any records to determine if you have or haven't run this bot in any amount of time.

Donations cups aren't given automatically by the system. The easiest and fastest way to claim your cup is to pm hobbit, note it could be useful to add some evidence, for example the paypal payed thingy.

Dtms not freed is not an error. Let me explain what this message is, why it is not important in most cases and how to recognize this warning as harmful.

Simba got two resource types which are managed by the system, TMufasaBitmap and the DTMs. Both can easily created and used by the functions given by simba, as well as they can be freed easily. Interesting is that they are stored in an Integer instead of a TMDTM or TMufasaBitmap. How is this possible and what is that Integer?

When you create a dtm or bitmap, with for example DTMFromString or CreateBitmap, you actually don't store the object in your var. Simba loads this resource in it's memory, but instead of giving you access to that memory it stores it in a list. The Integer you receive from those functions is the index that resource got in the list which is internally stored in simba.

When the script is done, possibly by reaching the end of the mainloop or by malfunctioning(getting lost) of the script, simba will check what resources are still present in their list of bitmaps and dtms. If any are left it will attempt to free them so your memory will not be raped by simba. The message you see at the end of the script is simply a list of what was still not freed. No memory loss here.

So when is there a problem? Sometimes new scripters, or even an experienced scripter with a brainfart, might make a mistake in their scripts. For example by loading dtms every time the script searches for an object, but not freeing them. This will hog your memory very fast. You can see this if you look in task manager at the amount of memory simba uses, as well that stopping the script early will produce a long list of unfreed resources(100's or 1000's), this usually indicates a lot of them are loaded multiple times.

Scripters also have the choice to give their dtms and bitmaps names, a feature which is very underused. This will return the name instead of the index of the simba resource list. This is way more user friendly as well as easier to debug.

edit:
Ip screenshots are optional. Adding the following line after SetupSRL; will disable them:
SRL_DisableIPLog := False;
